In an exciting finish the Cincinnati Reds pulled out a win over the Boston-AL
Red Sox by a score of 3 to 2 at Crosley Field.
The game was won by Cincinnati when they scored a run in the 9th inning.
Jackie Robinson lined a one-base hit, and an error was also committed. Hank
Arft followed and he singled giving Cincinnati the win much to the delight of
the home town crowd. Cincinnati had 9 hits for the night.
Vern Bickford(5-11) got the win allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Mel Queen(5-2)
took the loss in relief. He pitched 2 innings giving up 5 hits and 1 walk.
