In a thriling finish the Boston-AL Red Sox pulled off the win over the
Philadelphia-NL Phillies by a score of 2 to 1 at Fenway Park.
The game was decided in the 9th inning. Gus Zernial doubled. Cass Michaels
stepped up to the plate and he doubled giving Boston-AL the win and sending
the home town fans into a frenzy. For the game Boston-AL out-hit
Philadelphia-NL 6 to 2.
The win went to Walt Masterson(2-4) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Bob
Rush(14-10) was the losing pitcher in relief. He surrendered 3 hits and no
walks in 3 innings.
