The New York-AL Yankees cruised to a 13 to 8 victory over the Pittsburgh
Pirates at Forbes Field.

In the 5th inning New York-AL scored 6 runs with the help of 5 hits.  The
highlight belonged to Smoky Burgess who deflated the crowd as he doubled
bringing home two baserunners.  Pittsburgh out-hit New York-AL 16 to 13, but
New York-AL ended up with more runs.  

Hal White(2-5) got the win allowing 1 run in 2 and 2/3 innings. White got
relief help from Sonny Dixon who gained credit for his 3rd save.  Early
Wynn(13-9) was the losing pitcher.  He had trouble throwing strikes and
issued 9 walks in 4 innings.
