Bones Ely had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Ed Mars tossed a complete game at
Speranza Park as the Syracuse Stars beat the Toledo Maumees by the count of
10 to 6.

Syracuse jumped on top of Toledo in the top of the 4th inning scoring 3 runs.
After an out was recorded, Mars began the rally when he drew a walk.  After
another out, Pat Friel came up and he drew a walk.  Hank Simon then laced a
single scoring a one-base hit run.  Cupid Childs stepped in and he drew a
walk to load the bases.  Ely stepped into the box and reached on an error
plating one more runner.  Mox McQuery added to the rally and drew a walk
scoring the final run of the inning.  Syracuse finished with 13 hits in the
victory.  

Mars(5-1), allowing 6 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Ed
Cushman(13-21) suffered the loss.  He got hit hard, allowing 13 hits and 8
walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.
