Harry Staley had a complete game and right fielder Tommy McCarthy had 4 hits
and 2 RBI as the Boston Beaneaters smashed the overmatched struggling
Baltimore Orioles, 12 to 2.

McCarthy enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He tripled scoring a run in the 1st
inning, doubled in the 4th inning, doubled plating a run in the 6th inning
and doubled in the 9th inning.  Boston totaled 11 hits on the afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Staley(17-13) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Bill
Gilbert(0-1) was tagged with the loss.  He struggled with his control issuing
15 walks in 9 innings.
