The St. Louis Browns eventually emerged as victors over the Philadelphia Phillies by the score of 2 to 0. St. Louis started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the first scoring a single run. After an out was recorded, Frank Shugart laced a one-base hit. After another out, Shugart stole second with some aggressive base running. Perry Werden then reached on an error. Bones Ely was up next and he reached on an error scoring the run. That early scoring was all that Gleason needed. Philadelphia had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. Ted Breitenstein gained credit for his 1st save.
