Sam Leever tossed a complete game as the seemingly unstoppable Pittsburg
Pirates defeated the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 7 to 3 at Exposition
Park.

Pittsburg went ahead for good in the 2nd inning scoring one runner on 2 base
hits.  Honus Wagner doubled.  Kitty Bransfield stepped up to the plate and he
stroked a one-base hit scoring the run.  Pittsburg managed 10 hits in their
victory.  

The winning pitcher was Leever(9-8) who allowed 3 runs for the game. The
losing pitcher was Doc White(11-12).  He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 10
hits and 4 walks.
