Charlie Dexter hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI and John Malarkey tossed a complete
game as the sizzling Boston Beaneaters beat the slumping Philadelphia
Phillies by a score of 9 to 1.

Philadelphia found themselves trailing quickly as the Boston bats came through
in the first inning when they scored 4 runs on 5 hits.  That was all the runs
Malarkey(10-7) needed.  Boston managed 12 hits in their victory.  

Doc White(12-20) was charged with the loss.  He was touched for 12 hits and 4
walks in 8 innings.  Boston remained hot, improving their record to 73-56.
They now have a record of 9-1 in recent days.  Not able to get much going in
recent weeks, Philadelphia is 1-9 of late and now has an overall record of
41-88, worst in the league.
