Tony Mullane went the distance and left fielder George Tebeau had 5 hits and 5
RBI as the powerful Cincinnati Red Stockings really laid it on the St. Louis
Browns 26 to 7.

Tebeau enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He laced a base-knock which was good
for two runs in the 1st inning, ripped a base-hit bringing in a run in the
4th inning, laced a single in the 6th inning, hit a one-base hit which scored
a run in the 7th inning and singled resulting in a run in the 7th inning.
Cincinnati bats were very productive in the 3rd inning when they had 5 runs
on 5 hits and the 7th inning which saw them score 11 runs on 6 hits.
Cincinnati dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.

The victory was credited to Mullane(28-17) who went the distance, allowing 7
runs. Silver King(30-10) ended up with the loss. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 22 hits and 4 walks in 8 innings.

Cincinnati continued their winnings ways improving their record to 76-50.
They are 8-2 in their last ten games. With the loss St. Louis now has a
record of 88-33.
