Frank Foreman had a complete game and Tommy Dowd had 4 hits and 5 RBI as the
Washington Statesmen clobbered the outmatched St. Louis Browns, 23 to 7.

The St. Louis fans didn't appreciate the big day Dowd had. He slapped a
base-hit which scored a run in the 1st inning, banged out a single scoring a
run in the 6th inning, tripled plating all three baserunners in the 7th
inning and stroked a one-base hit in the 9th inning. Washington kept the
scorekeepers busy in the 3rd inning scoring 4 runs and the 6th inning which
saw them plate 7 runs on 6 hits. Washington had many opportunities
throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.

Foreman(15-19) allowed 7 runs on the game. Willie McGill(15-16) took the loss.
He couldn't find the strike zone and allowed 12 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.
