Center fielder Fred Mann had 4 hits and 5 RBI at Recreation Park where the
Columbus Buckeyes beat the New York Metropolitans 16 to 15.

Mann had a good day at the plate.  He laced a base-hit scoring a run in the
1st inning, lashed a single in the 3rd inning, clubbed a three-run home run
in the 5th inning and hit a one-base hit which brought home a run in the 5th
inning.  Columbus bats were hot in the 5th inning which saw them plate 9 runs
on 7 hits.  The score went back-and-forth with the lead changing 6 times.

Al Bauer(1-0) lasted until the end allowing 15 runs for the win. Tim
Keefe(28-17) ended up with the loss.  He surrended 3 homeruns in his 8
innings.  

Columbus now has a record of 57-40.  With this loss, New York has a 3-7 record
of late, 54-40 overall.
