Erskine Mayer completed the game without help from the bullpen and Hans Lobert
had 5 hits and 4 RBI at Baker Bowl where the Philadelphia Phillies beat the
St. Louis Cardinals 13 to 4.

Lobert had a good day at the plate.  He doubled in the 1st inning, doubled
bringing home two baserunners in the 2nd inning, laced a single plating a run
in the 4th inning, stroked a one-base hit which plated a run in the 6th
inning and lined a base-hit in the 8th inning.  Philadelphia totaled 17 hits
on the afternoon.  

Mayer(18-17) was the winner allowing 4 runs for the game. Dan Griner(8-5) was
the losing pitcher.  He was hit hard and gave up 17 hits and 2 walks in 8
innings.  

Philadelphia now has a record of 60-80.  With the loss, St. Louis has a record
of 4-6 lately, 83-56 overall.
