Rube Foster went the distance as the Boston Red Sox really laid it on the
Cleveland Indians 14 to 2.
Cleveland fell behind quickly as the Boston offense came through in the first
inning as they scored 4 runs on 4 base hits. That scoring would be all that
was needed. Boston bats were hot in the 1st inning which saw them score 4
runs on 4 hits and the 8th inning when they had 8 runs on 9 hits. Boston
banged out 20 hits on the afternoon.
Foster(23-8) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Willie
Mitchell(11-13) was tagged with the loss. Boston knocked him around a bit,
as he gave up 6 runs in 5 innings.
