Iron Davis went the distance as the red-hot Boston Braves defeated the
ice-cold Cincinnati Reds by the score of 2 to 1 at South End
Grounds.

Davis(3-1) was solid in the win.  He allowed just 6 hits and 2 walks in 9
innings improving his ERA from 3.12 to 2.57.  After the 3rd inning, neither
team was able to score.  

The losing pitcher was King Lear(2-9).  He gave up 2 runs and 3 hits in 7
