WEB GEMS- Bot 5th: Jimmy Esmond robbed Three Finger Brown of a base hit.

Edd Roush had 2 base hits and Earl Moseley held Chicago to 4 hits as the
Newark Peppers outscored the Chicago Whales in 10 innings 4 to 1.

The score was tied at 1 after nine. Newark ended up winning it in the 10th
inning. Bill Rariden led off the inning for Newark when he delivered a
base-hit. Moseley next to the plate and he reached on an error. After an
out was recorded, Germany Schaefer then tripled knocking home two runners.
Roush came up and he ripped a base-knock scoring the final run of the inning.
Newark managed 9 hits in their victory.

Moseley(16-13) got the victory, allowing 1 run for the game. The losing
pitcher was Three Finger Brown(14-9). Moseley was asked about his big
strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these
numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands,
everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be
able to take the crowd out of the game.'
