Egyptian Healy pitched a complete game at Speranza Park as the Toledo Maumees
staged a comeback win over the Baltimore Orioles by the count of 4 to
3.

Toledo came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 2
runs. Ed Swartwood kicked off the action when he drew a walk. Swartwood
took off for second and slid in with a stolen base. Toledo continued their
aggressive style with another stolen base. Parson Nicholson followed and he
drew a walk. Toledo got their 2nd stolen base of the inning. Bill Van Dyke
did his part to keep things going and drew a walk to load the bases. Two
outs later George Tebeau stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk bringing
in a run. Perry Werden then stroked a one-base hit resulting in a mighty
exciting win for Toledo and the 1,362 home town fans in attendance. Both
teams finished the game with 4 hits.

The victory went to Healy(30-9) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. Les
German(2-6) was the losing pitcher. Healy and Fred Smith were really
whooping it up in the clubhouse after the great come from behind victory. As
Charlie Morton noted, 'A win like this one can do wonders for a team's
attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans, the players - even you guys
- it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
