Billy Hamilton had 4 hits and Tom Vickery didn't allow a hit until the 6th
inning as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Chicago Colts 7 to 4 at West
Side Park.

Vickery(22-18) contributed a very nicely pitched game.  He gave up just 4 hits
and 2 walks in 9 innings.  The right-handed Vickery lost his no-hit bid when
Cliff Carroll singled with one out in the 6th inning.  Philadelphia rapped
out 10 hits for the afternoon.  

Ed Stein(8-10) suffered the loss.  He pitched 9 innings and surrendered 10
hits and 6 walks.
