TEAM RISP- Senators: 7 for 18 Giants: 12 for 24
WEB GEMS- Bot 9th: Deacon McGuire blocked the plate, saving a run!
Bot 10th: Roger Bresnahan robbed George Van Haltren of a base hit.

It was an amazing offensive display in Polo Grounds where the Washington
Senators beat the New York Giants by the score of 17 to 16 in 10
inning.

Both teams had scored 14 runs after nine full innings. Washington came out on
top in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Charlie Reilly started
the rally when he hit a single. Zeke Wrigley followed and he singled. Tom
Brown then delivered a base-hit driving in a run. Kip Selbach was up next
and he slapped a single bringing in another run. Jake Gettman came up to bat
and laced a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning. Washington
kept the scorekeepers busy in the 6th inning tallying 5 runs. The Washington
offense was great, scoring in 8 of the 10 innings.

Win Mercer(22-17) got credit for the victory, pitching 9 innings and allowing
14 runs. Mercer got relief help from Roger Bresnahan who gained credit for
his 2nd save. Amos Rusie(21-13) took the loss in relief.
