floundering Boston Beaneaters by the score of 12 to 5 at South End
Grounds.

In the 3rd inning Pittsburgh scored 5 runs when they had 4 base hits.  That
early run support was enough for Lefty Leifield(19-8) and Pittsburgh.  For
the game Pittsburgh out-hit Boston 14 to 11.  

Vive Lindaman(10-22) suffered the loss.  He got hammered, allowing 14 hits and
4 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.
