Dasher Troy had 3 base hits and 2 RBI and Jack Lynch pitched a complete game
as the New York Metropolitans defeated the Brooklyn Atlantics by a score of
14 to 9 at West Diamond.

Brooklyn was unable to claim the lead after New York went ahead in the 4th
inning scoring 2 runs using 3 hits.  Ed Kennedy started the inning off right
when he stroked a one-base hit.  Lynch stepped into the batter's box and he
laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Candy Nelson then slapped a base-hit.  Nelson
got a good lead and stole second.  After another out, Dude Esterbrook stepped
up to the plate and he lined a single scoring two baserunners.  New York lit
up the scoreboard in the 2nd inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 6 hits and
the 6th inning which saw them score 4 runs on 6 hits.  New York dominated
offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.  

The victory went to Lynch(28-24) who went the distance allowing 9 runs. Jim
Conway(6-8) suffered the loss.  New York scored big getting 14 runs off him
in 8 innings.
