WEB GEMS- Top 6th: Joe Burke robbed Joe Daly of a base hit.

Count Campau had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the floundering Philadelphia Athletics
were badly beaten by the St. Louis Browns, 18 to 0.

Campau made sure the St. Louis fans enjoyed themselves. He hit a single
plating a run in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 5th inning, lifted one out of
the park for a two run home run in the 6th inning and delivered a one-base
hit scoring a run in the 7th inning. St. Louis bats were very productive in
the 3rd inning with 7 runs on 4 hits. The St. Louis offense was great,
scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.

George Nicol(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 8 innings. William
Stecher(0-6) was given the loss. He couldn't find the strike zone and
allowed 15 walks in 8 innings.

St. Louis continued their winnings ways improving their record to 70-52. They
are 9-1 in their last ten games. Still in a bad slump, with this loss,
Philadelphia is 2-8 lately and 44-75 on the year.
