Kid Gleason pitched a complete game and Sam Thompson blasted a homerun and had
4 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies outscored the Chicago Colts 11 to 4.

The Chicago fans didn't appreciate the big day Thompson had.  He smashed a
two-run homer in the 5th inning, lashed a single in the 8th inning and
doubled bringing home two baserunners in the 9th inning.  Philadelphia
managed 11 hits in their victory.  

Gleason(31-16) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 4 runs. Bill
Hutchison(41-20) was given the loss.  He allowed Philadelphia 11 runs in 8
and 1/3 innings of work.
