Harry Coveleski shutout St. Louis while allowing the Philadelphia bullpen a
day-off and Otto Knabe hit 3 doubles and had 4 RBI as the Philadelphia
Phillies clobbered the outmatched St. Louis Cardinals, 12 to 0.

Knabe enjoyed a big day at the plate. He doubled which scored a run in the
1st inning, doubled resulting in a run in the 5th inning and doubled bringing
home two baserunners in the 8th inning. Philadelphia totaled 14 hits on the
afternoon.

Coveleski(2-0) was credited with the shutout, his first of the year. Johnny
Lush(12-19) ended up with the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering
8 runs in 7 innings.

Philadelphia continued on their recent roll, their winning streak now reaching
6 games and counting. John McCloskey was upset but philosophical about the
loss. 'Sometimes you run into a team that's on a roll. This was one of
those times.'
