Beals Becker lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI and Eppa Rixey
had an impressive outing at Baker Bowl where the Philadelphia Phillies beat
the Boston Braves by the score of 3 to 0.

Philadelphia plated all the runs they needed in the 5th inning scoring 3
runners on 2 hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Becker who
excited the crowd when he smacked a three-run homer.  Philadelphia had 7 hits
for the afternoon.  

Rixey(7-9) was credited with the shutout, his first of the year. The losing
