Joe Dolan hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI and Snake Wiltse allowed Connie Mack to
rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Philadelphia Athletics
rallied impressively to win in dramatic style over Cleveland Blues, 8 to
7.

Philadelphia came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning plating 2 runs on 2 hits. Wiltse started the inning off right when he
slapped a base-hit. Dave Fultz stepped into the batter's box and he laid
down a sacrifice bunt. One out later, Nap Lajoie then drew a walk. Socks
Seybold followed and he drew a walk to load the bases. Matty McIntyre came
to the plate and stroked a one-base hit making Philadelphia the winners and
sending the 5,770 fans home happy. Cleveland out-hit Philadelphia 14 to 10,
but Philadelphia ended up with more runs.

Wiltse(11-8) got the victory, allowing 7 runs for the game. Jack Bracken(3-8)
was tagged with the loss. 'I struggled a bit out there today,' Wiltse said,
'but I toughed it out and we got the win.'
