Fred Tenney had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Vic Willis completed the game without
help from the bullpen at Baker Bowl where the Boston Beaneaters beat the
Philadelphia Phillies 5 to 3.

Tenney enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He doubled which was good for two runs
in the 2nd inning, lashed a single in the 4th inning, tripled resulting in a
run in the 6th inning and laced a one-base hit in the 9th inning.  Boston
totaled 12 hits on the afternoon.  

Willis(26-15) lasted until the end allowing 3 runs for the win. The loss was
charged to Jesse Whiting(0-1).  He allowed 12 hits and 11 walks in 9 innings.
