At Sportsman'S Park the St. Louis Browns ended a long winless drought and
outscored the Philadelphia Athletics 7 to 4.

St. Louis took the lead off Jimmy Dygert in the first inning plating one
baserunner.  St. Louis and Philadelphia each finished the afternoon with 8
hits.  

Barney Pelty(5-14) allowed 4 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Marc Hall earned his 2nd save.  The losing pitcher was Dygert(5-5).
