Dutch Leonard delivered 9 solid innings at Fenway Park where the very potent
Boston Red Sox beat the St. Louis Browns by the score of 4 to 0.
Boston did all of it's offensive work in the 2nd inning scoring 4 runners on 4
hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Both teams' bats went to
sleep after the 2nd inning with no runs scored after that point.
It was the 3rd shutout of the year for Leonard(8-9). The losing pitcher was
George Sisler(3-6). Bill Carrigan was very impressed with his pitcher,
Leonard, 'He had unusually good pitch placement this afternoon. It was
almost unfair - but a beautiful game to watch from where I sat'
