Tom Morrissey had 3 base hits and 2 RBI and Ed Cushman mowed down 13
Washington batters as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Washington Nationals
by the score of 9 to 7 at Wright Street Ground.

Cushman(1-0) was virtually untouchable.  He didn't give up much, just 5 hits
and 1 walk in 9 innings.  Milwaukee managed 8 hits in their victory.  

Abner Powell(5-5) absorbed the loss.  Milwaukee scored big getting 9 runs off
him in 8 innings.  Cushman was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a
lot of fun out there.  The fans gave me a lot of support as did my teammates.
We got the victory and I'll sure take 13 strikeouts anytime!'
