WEB GEMS- Top 9th: Cub Stricker robbed George Keefe of a base hit.

George Keefe allowed Arthur Irwin to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
as the Washington Nationals outscored the Cleveland Spiders 4 to
3.

Washington came up with 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning with the help of 3
hits. It was enough to earn the victory. Cleveland threatened in the 9th
but Washington was able to put down the rally.

Keefe(6-19) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. Ed Beatin(22-12)
was tagged with the loss. With the win, Washington continued their winning
ways; their streak now stands at 6 games and counting. 'It seems we can't
lose these days', Irwin volunteered after the game. Then after a moment to
reflect he lamented, 'Oh great! Now I've gone and jinxed us!'
