WEB GEMS- Top 2nd: Bobby Lowe robbed Bill Hallman of a base hit.
Bot 7th: George Magoon robbed Jimmy Collins of a base hit.

Jimmy Collins smacked 2 homeruns and Vic Willis allowed Frank Selee to rest
his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Boston Beaneaters man-handled the
hopeless Brooklyn Bridegrooms - the final score was 12 to 2.

Collins had a great day at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every
move. He delivered a solo blast in the 2nd inning, slapped a base-hit in the
4th inning and brought the hometown folks to their feet with a Grand Slammer
in the 4th inning. Boston finished with 10 hits in the victory.

The winning pitcher was Willis(17-16) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Ralph
Miller(1-18) was given the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 8 hits and 3
walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.

'Everything seemed to click today,' Collins said 'if it could only be this
easy all the time!'
