WEB GEMS- Top 8th: Honus Wagner robbed Cy Seymour of a base hit.

George Gibson had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Vic Willis completed the game
without help from the bullpen as the blistering-hot Pittsburgh Pirates topped
the New York Giants by a score of 9 to 4 at Forbes Field.

In the 6th inning Pittsburgh scored 4 runs when they had 4 base hits. They
would prove to be the difference in the contest. Pittsburgh totaled 14 hits
on the afternoon.

Willis(20-10), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Red
Ames(11-14) was the loser. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 14 hits and 4
walks in 8 innings.

Pittsburgh added another win to their now very impressive winning streak. John
McGraw was very irritated after the contest. 'Just our luck to run into a
team that's playing like a juggernaut right now. I have to congratulate Fred
Clarke on his team's recent performance. A very impressive run.'
