New York jumped on top of St. Louis in the bottom of the 5th inning plating 2 runs on 2 hits. Guy Zinn started the inning off right when he tripled. Cozy Dolan stepped up next and he reached on an error which plated a run. Dolan took off for second and slid in with a stolen base. After an out was recorded, New York continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. Cree stepped into the box and lined a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. New York had 10 hits for the afternoon. Ford(17-12) allowed 2 runs on the game. Ed Hawk(0-2) was the loser. New York scored big getting 7 runs off him in 6 and 1/3 innings. 'All of my pitches were working today,' Ford said. 'I felt really good out there, and heck, I think I could have gone longer.'
