TEAM RISP- Red Stockings: 4 for 10 Metropolitans: 15 for 25
WEB GEMS- Top 4th: Tom Forster robbed Jim Keenan of a base hit.

Chief Roseman had 5 hits and 9 RBI and Ed Cushman tossed a complete game as
the New York Metropolitans destroyed the Cincinnati Red Stockings by a score
of 27 to 6 at Polo Diamond Grounds.

Roseman really 'lit it up' for New York. He laced a single bringing home two
baserunners in the 4th inning, stroked a one-base hit bringing in two
baserunners in the 6th inning, tripled which was good for two runs in the 7th
inning, banged out a base-hit bringing home two baserunners in the 7th inning
and ripped a one-base hit resulting in a run in the 8th inning. New York
bats were hot in the 6th inning with 5 runs on 6 hits and the 7th inning
which saw them score 11 runs on 9 hits. Offensively, New York was a
juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

Cushman(20-13) lasted until the end allowing 6 runs for the win. George
Pechiney(7-6) was the loser in relief. He struggled with his control issuing
11 walks in 7 innings.
