WEB GEMS- Bot 1st: Miller Huggins robbed Harry Lumley of a base hit.

Pop Dillon had 2 base hits and Doc Scanlan carried a no-hitter into the 7th
inning at Washington Park where the Brooklyn Superbas beat the Cincinnati
Reds by the score of 4 to 2.

Scanlan(11-5) gave Brooklyn a solid outing. He didn't allow much, just 4 hits
and 3 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings. The right-handed Scanlan had his no-hit
bid broken up by Fred Odwell who singled with nobody out in the 7th inning.
The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.

Scanlan got help from Jack Doscher who was credited with his 7th save. Bob
Ewing(10-13) was hit with the loss. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not
allow an earned run in his 8 innings of work.
