Pete Meegan tossed a complete game and Dick Johnston had 4 hits and 4 RBI as
the Richmond Virginians defeated the pitiful Indianapolis Hoosiers by a score
of 12 to 6 at Allens Pasture.

Johnston provided much of the offense. He tripled plating two runs in the 1st
inning, tripled which was good for two runs in the 3rd inning, tripled in the
6th inning and ripped a one-base hit in the 8th inning. Richmond bats were
very productive in the 1st inning with 5 runs on 5 hits and the 3rd inning
when they had 4 runs on 5 hits. Indianapolis scored in 5 different innings,
but their shaky pitching kept them from victory.

Meegan(5-8), allowing 6 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Bob
