Joe McGinnity was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Baltimore Orioles bested the Brooklyn Superbas 10 to 9
at Union Park.

Baltimore promptly took the lead in their half of the first scoring 2 runners
on 4 hits. Baltimore lit up the scoreboard in the 2nd inning which saw them
score 4 runs on 5 hits. Brooklyn had a chance to come back in the 9th but
they came up short.

McGinnity(20-18) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 9 runs. Jack
Dunn(17-14) was charged with the loss. He was unable to control the
Baltimore offense and allowed 20 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.

When questioned about the loss, Ned Hanlon said, 'The fans got to see an
exciting game out there this afternoon. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it
done this time. Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the
smiles.'
