Ned Garvin was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game and Jimmy Sheckard had 4 hits and scored 3 times at Baker Bowl as the
Brooklyn Superbas beat the hopeless Philadelphia Phillies 9 to
5.

Philadelphia was unable to climb back into it after Brooklyn went ahead for
good in the 3rd inning when they came up with 4 runs on 4 hits. The
highlight belonged to Tim Flood who quieted the home crowd when he stroked a
one-base hit bringing in two baserunners. Brooklyn finished with 16 hits in
the victory.

Garvin(2-0) finished the game allowing 5 runs in the victory. The loss was
charged to Ham Iburg(7-19). Brooklyn knocked him around a bit, as he gave up
9 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
