Rube Degroff had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Jack Taylor tossed a complete game
at Robison Field where the St. Louis Cardinals beat the hapless Brooklyn
Superbas 5 to 3.

Taylor(17-15) was in control of the game from the outset. He allowed just 6
hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.  Brooklyn had a chance in the 9th but they
came up short.  

Doc Scanlan(11-15) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 13 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.
