Doc Miller had 5 hits and 6 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies destroyed the
Boston Braves by a score of 17 to 6 at South End Grounds.

Miller was a one-man wrecking crew.  He laced a base-hit in the 1st inning,
doubled which brought home a run in the 3rd inning, tripled bringing home two
baserunners in the 5th inning, lined a single which was good for two runs in
the 8th inning and banged out a one-base hit which scored a run in the 9th
inning.  Philadelphia bats were hot in the 8th inning which saw them score 8
runs on 6 hits and the 9th inning with 5 runs on 3 hits.  Philadelphia had 21
hits for the afternoon while Boston had 10.  

Toots Shultz(6-5) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Walt
Dickson(10-15) took the loss.  He allowed 13 hits and 4 walks in 7 and 2/3
innings.
