Center fielder Harry Hooper hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI as the Boston Red Sox
bested the Washington Nationals in 11 innings 5 to 4 at National Park.

Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings.  Boston ended up
winning it in the 11th inning.  After an out was recorded, Wally Rehg laced a
base-hit.  Rehg was running on the next pitch and he stole second.  Bill
Mundy was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out.  Hooper came up and
he doubled scoring the run.  Both teams finished the game with 8 hits.  

The victory was credited to Joe Wood(14-2) who went 3 innings, allowing no
runs. Joe Engel(13-13) absorbed the loss in relief.
