Right fielder Tom Long had 4 hits and 4 RBI and Slim Sallee tossed a complete
game as the St. Louis Cardinals bested the Chicago Cubs in 10 innings 6 to 1
at West Side Park.

Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings. St. Louis won the game
in the 10th inning.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Long who helped quiet
the crowd when he launched a three-run homer.  St. Louis finished with 14
hits in the victory.  

Sallee(18-13) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Hippo
Vaughn(14-14) ended up with the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12
hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.
