Pearce Chiles had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Red Donahue tossed a complete game
as the Philadelphia Phillies staged a dramatic comeback over the New York
Giants by a score of 5 to 4 at Baker Bowl.

Philadelphia won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring
2 runs utilizing 4 base hits. After an out was recorded, Klondike Douglass
kicked off the action when he delivered a single. One out later, Jimmy
Slagle came to the plate and ripped a base-knock. Elmer Flick then delivered
a one-base hit plating a run. Chiles was up next and he delivered a base-hit
giving Philadelphia the win much to the delight of the home town crowd.
Philadelphia and New York each finished the afternoon with 12 hits.

The win was credited to Donahue(21-6) who went the whole way allowing 4 runs.
Bill Carrick(16-22) was tagged with the loss. He was unable to control the
Philadelphia offense and allowed 12 hits and 2 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.

'Now that is what I call fun! I just love baseball, especially games like
this, of course,' Bill Shettsline offered. 'Everyone at the stadium had a
great time - did you see the fans go wild there at the end?!'
