Hippo Vaughn dominated striking out 15 St. Louis batters as the Chicago Cubs
defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 10 to 1 at Robison Field.

Vaughn(23-10) was on top of his game.  He didn't allow much, just 6 hits and 5
walks in 9 innings.  Chicago kept the pressure on throughout the contest as
they scored in 6 different innings.  

The loss was charged to Steamboat Williams(0-2).  Chicago scored big getting 5
runs off him in 3 and 2/3 innings.  'I had my good stuff today.' Vaughn said.
'As the game went along I started to get the feeling that I was going to
strike out a bunch of hitters.'
