Harry Harper tossed a complete game as the Washington Nationals bested the
Philadelphia Athletics 7 to 2 at Griffith Stadium.

Washington took the lead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning scoring a
single run.  Washington had only 6 hits for the afternoon.  

Harper(7-2) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Jack Nabors(1-5)
took the loss.  He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs in 6 and 1/3
innings.
