Lady Baldwin retired 10 batters on strikeouts as the Detroit Wolverines
outscored the awful Washington Nationals 5 to 2.

Baldwin(34-19) looked very much in control throughout the day.  He allowed
just 6 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.  Washington could do no damage in the
bottom of the 9th.  

Frank Gilmore(4-2) was the loser.  Mike Scanlon was impressed with Baldwin and
his 10 strikeouts.  'It's tough to generate runs if you can't make contact
with the ball.'
