Perry Werden had 3 base hits and 2 RBI and Egyptian Healy was able to finish
what he started and was credited with a complete game as the Baltimore
Orioles beat the Washington Statesmen by a score of 6 to 2.
Baltimore jumped on top of Washington in the top of the 3rd inning plating an
isolated run utilizing 2 base hits. George Townsend ripped a single, and an
error was also committed. Two outs later Curt Welch stepped in and he
doubled scoring the run. Both teams totaled 11 hits on the afternoon.
Healy(12-12) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Frank Foreman(16-22)
was given the loss. He pitched 9 innings giving up 11 hits and no walks.
