Alex Hardy completed the game without help from the bullpen and Larry Schlafly
had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Chicago Orphans beat the hapless St. Louis
Cardinals in 10 innings by a score of 6 to 4.

Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. Chicago won the game in
the 10th inning. Johnny Kling led off and keyed the rally when he ripped a
base-hit. Jim Hackett then was wild with a pitch. Joe Tinker then stroked a
single resulting in a run. After an out was recorded, Sammy Strang came to
bat and stroked a single. Schlafly came to the plate and delivered a
one-base hit. Schlafly stole second with some aggressive base running.
Hardy was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Jock Menefee then
slapped a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Chicago managed 14
hits in their victory.

The win was credited to Hardy(2-2) who went the whole way allowing 4 runs.
Hackett(1-2) was given the loss. He was knocked around by Chicago, allowing
12 hits and 6 walks in 9 and 1/3 innings.
