Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings. St. Louis came out the victor in the 11th inning. After two were out Joe Yeager was the sparkplug when he ripped a one-base hit. Stone came next and he blasted a two-run home run resulting in a mighty exciting win for St. Louis and the 7,286 home town fans in attendance. St. Louis had just 6 hits for the afternoon. Howell(18-13) allowed 2 runs on the game. Jack Ryan(1-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. Nap Lajoie was obviously impressed with the pitching of Howell, 'That guy made us look a little silly out there this afternoon. We just couldn't get to him at all - everything was working for him. I just hope that he got that kinda performance out of his system.'
