Jimmy Lavender(12-14) pitched okay, well enough for the win.  He allowed 10
hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.  Chicago managed 10 hits in their
victory.  

Lew Richie gained credit for his 5th save.  Bob Harmon(13-14) suffered the
loss.  He was not very effective, surrendering 9 runs in 8 innings.  

'I struggled a bit out there today,' Lavender said, 'but I toughed it out and
we got the win.'
